Shawn Gillie was born and raised in the Capital Region. He wanted to leave, but sadly, can’t afford to live anywhere else. He grew up listening to FLY 92.3 legends like Ally Reid and knew, as a kid, that he wanted to be "that person" on the radio. Even though he is only 29, he was at the first-ever Summer Jam!

When Shawn is not on the radio, he’s a stand-up comedian who has been seen locally at the Funny Bone, The Egg, Proctors, and—on his mother’s grave—still trying to get her to laugh! Shawn is also a mobile DJ who mostly does weddings, but because he never wants to get a real job, he’ll do corporate events, proms, holiday parties, spay and neuterings, funerals, and private events.

Since we only get three nice months a year, Shawn is obsessed with traveling and leaves whenever he can. He is also a travel agent who has traveled all over the world—so much so that he started his own travel agency, Gillie’s Getaways Travel Services.
