McDonald’s is bringing back its McDonaldland character, Uncle O’Grimacey, to promote the Shamrock Shake, a seasonal favorite that returns before St. Patrick’s Day. The milkshake will be available in U.S. restaurants starting on Feb. 10, with 25 cents of each sale going to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. The return of Uncle O’Grimacey is part of McDonald’s efforts to boost sales following a recent slump, possibly sparked by a previous E. coli outbreak. The company has previously used retro mascots like Grimace and the Hamburglar in marketing campaigns, with positive results.
