[WATCH] A Look Back at Brian Wilson's Legacy in the Capital Region

The genius of the Beach Boys played the Capital Region numerous times, especially over the last two decades.

The Beach Boys and Brian Wilson have had a long and meaningful connection to New York’s Capital Region, especially with Saratoga Performing Arts Center. According to setlist.fm, they played their first concert at SPAC on August 26, 1976. 

Brian Wilson also performed solo in the area multiple times, including appearances at The Egg, the Palace and SPAC.

The Beach Boys reunited in 2012 for their 50th anniversary and Brian joined the rest of the members on the road. That show came to SPAC on June 23rd of that year. 

Brian Wilson's visits always brought out passionate fans, many of whom saw the performances as once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

Here's a look back at some of those iconic moments we were fortunate to see through the years. 

In 2001 Brian and his band played with Paul Simon at SPAC

Brian reunited with the Beach Boys in 2012 for the band's 50th anniversary. They played SPAC on June 23rd of that year. 

On April 26, 2017 Brian returned to the area with fellow Beach Boy Al Jardine at the Palace Theatre. 

Brian's last appearance in the area was October 21, 2021 at the Palace Theatre in Albany.
