Saratoga Race Course Announces No Outside Alcohol at the Belmont Stakes

The 2024 Belmont Stakes, one of the most anticipated events in the horse racing calendar, is set to take place at the historic Saratoga Race Course on Saturday, June 8. However, for this event, there will be a significant change in the Saratoga Race Course policy regarding alcoholic beverages. Organizers have announced that no outside alcoholic beverages will be allowed into the venue.

The Belmont Stakes, the final jewel in the Triple Crown of thoroughbred racing, has always been a grand spectacle, attracting thousands of spectators from around the world. The Saratoga Race Course, with its rich history and picturesque setting, has been happy to host the Belmont Stakes while Belmont Park is undergoing a long awaited $455 million dollar renovation.

Attendees will still be able to enjoy a variety of alcoholic beverages at the event. The Saratoga Race Course will offer a wide selection of drinks for purchase, including craft beers, wines, and specialty cocktails. These will be available at various points throughout the track, ensuring that attendees can still enjoy a drink while watching the races. Coolers containing food and non-alcoholic beverages will be allowed on-site and the policy only seems to affect the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival. The decision has been met with mixed reactions from the public.

The 2024 Belmont Stakes at Saratoga Race Course promises to be an exciting event, albeit with a significant change in its alcohol policy. As the countdown to the event begins, attendees are advised to plan accordingly and respect the new policy. Tickets for the Belmont Stakes go on sale Thursday, February 15 at 10a, with a special pre-sale available for those signed up at BelmontStakes.com/pre-sale
