The new season debuts March 13
Clifton Park native Katianna Hong is set to compete on the upcoming season of Bravo’s 'Top Chef,' premiering March 13. Hong, an Albany Academy graduate, now owns a restaurant in Los Angeles and is among 15 chefs vying for the top prize.
Television runs in the family—her older brother, Reid Scott, appeared on the ABC sitcom 'It’s All Relative' in 2003 and now stars as a detective on NBC’s "Law & Order."
Hong honed her culinary skills at the Culinary Institute of America and the University of Nevada. She worked at top California restaurants, eventually becoming chef de cuisine at the three-Michelin-star Restaurant at Meadowood in Napa Valley. In 2019, she and her husband, John Hong, opened Yangban in Los Angeles, a celebrated Korean American restaurant currently undergoing renovations for a spring reopening.
Adding a local twist, Saratoga Spring Water remains the show’s lead sponsor for the third consecutive year. The company supplies around 1,000 cases of water per season and funds the $250,000 grand prize. Viewers will frequently spot the signature blue bottles on set, including on the judges' table during tastings.
'Top Chef' will air Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo, with next-day streaming on Peacock.
