This Job for Dogs Comes with a Salary, Treats, and Zoom Meetings

BARK Wants to Hire Your Dog—Yes, Really
Introducing the World’s First Chairdog of the Dog Committee

You read that right—BARK is on the hunt for its very first Chairdog, and they’re not looking for a “dog person.” They want an actual, four-legged, tail-wagging canine with a strong sense of leadership, a deep commitment to playtime, and the ability to fall asleep during Zoom meetings.

This once-in-a-lifetime gig puts your dog at the helm of the Dog Committee—reporting directly to BARK’s CEO and working paw-in-paw with teams across creative, product, and social. It’s a real role, with real responsibilities (and, yes, a really adorable salary package).

What Does a Chairdog Do?

Glad you asked. Your pup will be the top dog in all things toy-testing, taste-testing, and tail-wagging. Duties include:

  • Approving new toys and treats through rigorous sniff, squeak, and chew analysis.

  • Appearing in content across BARK’s social channels, ads, and broadcast spots.

  • Leading monthly “all-paws” meetings via Zoom (sleeping during them = allowed).

  • Helping select a dog-first charity to receive a $50,000 donation from BARK.

  • Providing frequent feedback in the form of barks, tail thumps, and surprise zoomies.

  • Serving as the face of exclusive BARK merch (yes, there will be photoshoots).

This isn’t just a role—it’s a lifestyle.

What BARK Is Looking For

The ideal Chairdog is:

  • A squeaky toy savant with an eye for fluff and a nose for peanut butter.

  • Confident on camera (bonus if they steal the spotlight from their human).

  • Fluent in tail wags, bleps, and side-eyes.

  • Able to work well with both humans and hounds (occasional playful nips OK).

  • Experienced in naps, snuggles, and snack attacks.

Puppies and seniors alike are encouraged to apply. Whether your dog is 2 years old or 14 (in dog years or human), all breeds and mutts are welcome—potty-trained preferred, but not required (we’ve all had an accident from excitement).

The Perks (Yes, There’s a Salary)

BARK isn’t playing around. The Chairdog gig comes with:

  • A $50,000 compensation package

  • A free BarkBox subscription during their term

  • All the toys and treats your pup can handle

  • Travel and appearances covered by BARK (media ops, meetups, HQ visits, etc.)

Location? Totally remote-friendly. Whether your dog rules from a sunlit couch in California or the shady corner of a Brooklyn apartment, they’re eligible.

How to Apply

This is your pup’s moment. Applications are open now and require:

  • Basic info (name, nicknames, breed guess, location)

  • A walkout song and a reality TV-style tagline

  • A headshot (derpy is encouraged)

  • A 30–60 second video showing off your dog’s personality

  • Optional: their social media handle if they have a fanbase

BARK is not looking for high production value—just big personality, charm, and a little chaos.

The Interview Process

Shortlisted candidates will go through a delightfully unhinged 2-part process:

  1. Unboxing & Unleashing – BARK sends a box. Your dog opens it live.

  2. The Final Sniff – A casual chat (read: bark-fest) with BARK’s leadership.

Yes, this job is ridiculous. But BARK is serious about finding the right pup to lead the pack—and make dog history.

So if your dog has what it takes to be the world’s first Chairdog, fetch your camera, cue the peanut butter, and apply today.

Let’s redefine leadership, one tail wag at a time. 🐾
